苦等了两三个月，哥大的DS昨天终于放了一批结果。有人说，哥大的DS和EE是学校最水的项目，先不说这样说把QMSS、OR、统计，以及SPS学院的项目等置于何地（开个玩笑），单单看到21和22年DS的录取情况，智友君就很费解：水从何来？

当然，每个人对“水”的理解不同，有的说招的人多=水，有的说中国人多=水，有的说课程不是自己想要的=水，有的说就业服务不行=水，还有的说录取分数低=水……要是争论下来没有结果。今天智友君就帮忙整理了解一下项目的情况，然后水不水你们说了算。

一、学制&学费

哥大的DS是由文理学院的统计系和工程学院的CS、IEOR系联合办理，设立在Data Science Institute。大部分学生选择1年修完课程，但也可以2年完成此项目。

课程学习压力较大（好像对陆本的学生来说，刚去国外压力都大）。对于Statistics类课程，本科学过相关课程的话可以参加waive考试，考试通过可以选择更好的课程替代。哥大的NLP、ML类的课程是哥大的强项，选课竞争比较激烈。具体选择什么课程，可以咨询Advisor和学长学姐的意见。

三、申请要求

前提课程：

量化课程如微积分、线性代数等；计算机编程，硕士课程中会要求R、Python、shell scripts、C和Java，你们看着办吧。

根据这两年的录取结果发放情况来看，会在3月下旬开始发放录取，持续到4、5月份。不好的消息是，到4月底5月初，大部分都是拒信了。

四、录取情况

官网FAQ里还是19年的数据，当时PT和FT的学生一共有150人左右，平均本科GPA3.76，GRE 168 (Q)、158 (V)、3.8 (W)。截止到21年5月，MSDS有679位校友。根据不完全统计，21年入学人数共有200左右。

智友君搜集了21年和22年的49个录取案例，背景情况仅供参考：

陆本里主要有清华、北大、同济、武大、山大、南大等top985院校。

单从录取情况来看，录取的学生肯定不水，都是非常优秀。
